Two new X3D processors arrived from AMD for AM4 and AM5

AMD officially announced the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition and Ryzen 7 7700X3D processors as part of Computex 2026. While the company re-released Ryzen 7 5800X3D with a special edition for the 10th anniversary of the AM4 platform, it added the new Ryzen 7 7700X3D model with 3D V-Cache technology to the AM5 side. Ryzen 7 5800X3D returned with a special edition, Ryzen 7 7700X3D joined the AM5 family. Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition was announced as the special edition prepared by AMD for the 10th anniversary of the AM4 platform.

The processor will hit the shelves on June 25 with a recommended sales price of $ 349. With this model, AMD also added a thermal interface material called Carbice Ice Pad to the box content. Ryzen 7 5800X3D uses the Zen 3 architecture and is in the processor family codenamed Vermeer. The model has 8 cores and 16 threads. The default TDP value was announced as 105W. Ryzen 7 5800X3D with AM4 socket is supported by X570, X470, B550, B450 and A520 chipsets. The processor offers PCIe 4.0 support and comes with 24 total, 20 available PCIe lanes. On the memory side, there is dual channel DDR4 support. DDR4-3200 speeds are supported in 2x1R and 2x2R installations, DDR4-2933 in 4x1R installation, and DDR4-2667 in 4x2R installation. The maximum memory capacity is listed as 128 GB.

Ryzen 7 5800X3D does not have an integrated graphics unit. For this reason, a separate graphics card must be used in the system. There is no processor cooler in the box, and AMD recommends a liquid cooler for optimal operating conditions. The maximum operating temperature of the processor was announced as 90 degrees. The model supports AMD 3D V-Cache technology, Windows 11 Gaming support and AMD Ryzen VR-Ready Premium feature.

The second processor announced by AMD was Ryzen 7 7700X3D. This model, prepared for the AM5 platform, was added to the Ryzen 7000 series. The processor will go on sale on July 16 with a recommended sales price of $ 329. Within the scope of the same announcement, AMD also announced that AM5 socket support will continue until 2029. Ryzen 7 7700X3D uses the Zen 4 architecture and the code name Raphael AM5. The processor has 8 cores and 16 threads.

The model has a base clock speed of 4.0 GHz and a boost frequency of up to 4.5 GHz. On the cache side, there is 512 KB L1, 8 MB L2 and 96 MB L3. The total cache amount was announced as 104 MB. The default TDP value is 120W. The processor cores of Ryzen 7 7700X3D come with TSMC 5nm FinFET, and the I/O die comes with TSMC 6nm FinFET production technology. There are 2 molds in the model. The processor offers AMD EXPO memory overclocking technology, Precision Boost Overdrive support, Curve Optimizer voltage offsets and AMD Ryzen Master support.

On the CPU boost technology side, there is Precision Boost 2. Ryzen 7 7700X3D with AM5 socket can be used with A620, X670E, X670, B650E, B650, X870E, X870, B840 and B850 chipsets. The processor offers PCIe 5.0 support and comes with 24 usable PCIe lanes, 28 in total. On the NVMe side, there is Boot, RAID0, RAID1 and RAID10 support. On the memory side, Ryzen 7 7700X3D offers dual channel DDR5 support. The maximum memory capacity is listed as 128 GB.

DDR5-5200 speeds are supported in 2x1R and 2x2R installations, and DDR5-3600 speeds are supported in 4x1R and 4x2R installations. ECC support is also offered depending on motherboard support. Ryzen 7 7700X3D includes AMD Radeon Graphics integrated graphics unit. The graphics unit has a 2-core structure and a frequency of 2200 MHz. USB Type-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode support is also among the features. There is no cooler in the processor box and AMD recommends a liquid cooler for best performance.

The maximum operating temperature was announced as 89 degrees. AMD extended AM5 platform support with Ryzen 7 7700X3D until 2029. While the company marked the 10-year platform life on the AM4 side with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition, on the AM5 side, it offered a new option with Ryzen 7 7700X3D with 3D V-Cache support.
