Every epic journey has an end; But one of the biggest lessons that The Land of Ooo teaches us is that endings are actually just a different chorus of the song. The 10th season is a bittersweet, heavy, yet magnificent farewell for us to this series, which started like a colorful dream over the years and mirrored our deepest existential questions. We no longer face sugar castles and simple monsters; There are the mistakes of the past, inevitable wars, and universal chaos itself.

Let’s take a final stroll through the ruins of the Tree House and take a closer look at what our characters have learned in this final season and where the story leaves us. Scenario and Story: The Meaninglessness of War and the Coming of Chaos (GOLB) season begins with Uncle Gumbald’s quest for revenge, coming from Princess Bubblegum’s (Bonnibel) dark past. The Land of Ooo is dragged into the tension of a great “War” where two huge armies face off, threatening the existence of the Candy Kingdom.

However, here the story rejects the classic cliché “The good fight the bad guys and win.” Adventure Time shows that war is not the solution. With Finn’s insistence, the parties learn to enter each other’s minds and empathize with the help of “Nightmare Water”. Just as the war is about to end in peace, the real and ultimate threat emerges: GOLB. GOLB is no ordinary villain; it is chaos, destruction and nothingness itself.

He cannot be defeated by sword or wit. At this point, the series reaches the peak of its existential philosophy. War is not the only thing that can stop chaos and destruction; harmony, bonding and art (singing). One of the most striking moments of this season is the destruction of the Tree House, which is Finn and Jake’s everything, the symbol of their childhood, by GOLB. At that moment we understand that; We cannot live by holding on to nostalgia, everything changes and we have to accept this change.

Character Analyzes: Farewells, Sacrifices and Awakenings Finn the Human: The Journey from Violence to Empathy That hyperactive boy who tried to solve problems only with his sword in the first season appears before us in the 10th season as a mature young man who tries every way not to fight. Finn puts himself in danger to stop the two armies from destroying each other. What Did He Learn?: Finn learned that true heroism isn’t always about defeating someone, but sometimes about understanding your enemy and breaking the cycle of violence.

The pain he felt when the Tree House collapsed was the definitive farewell to his childhood. However, he was old enough to stand up to save the world instead of crying in the ruins. Princess Bubblegum (Bonnibel) and Marceline: Let It Be Bonnibel has taken authoritarian, manipulative and overly controlling actions to protect the Candy Kingdom for centuries. Uncle Gumbald’s return was a physical reflection of his own mistakes.

What Changed?: Bonnibel gives up her obsession with “controlling everything” in this season. He understands that his loved ones are important, not his authority. Marceline, on the other hand, was a wounded soul who ran away from her emotions and people for years. During the GOLB attack, when Bonnibel thought she was going to die, all of Marceline’s walls collapsed. The kiss of the two in the middle of that chaos and their holding on to each other was the end of centuries of denial and loneliness.

Fern (Green Knight): Forgiveness and Belonging Fern, who was pulled to the dark side by Gumbald, becomes Finn’s biggest heartache throughout the season. Fern has always experienced the pain and jealousy of not being the “real Finn”. What Did He Learn?: In the confrontation in the nightmare world, Finn destroys the grass demon inside Fern. Fern is eventually freed, but her body is disintegrated. His calm state just before his death and his words “Put me in the Tree House” show that he has finally made peace with his identity.

After Fern dies, she becomes the giant tree that sprouts from the ruins of the Tree House; It turns into a new source of life in Ooo’s future. Betty, Simon (Ice King) and GOLB: A Tragic Sacrifice The Ice King’s tragic comedy, which has been going on for years, reaches its peak in this season. Betty’s obsession with saving Simon from the crown’s curse pushes her to summon GOLB. Simon finally comes to his senses when he loses the crown, but this time GOLB is swallowing them.

Analysis: Betty realizes that the only way to save Simon is to give up her own existence. He wears the crown and wishes to unite with GOLB. Simon is saved but loses the love of his life forever. This is the heaviest burden of the series: True love sometimes means being able to completely let go of the person you love so that they can live. BMO: Witness of Time and Innocence In the opening and closing of the season, we see old BMO, who became the “King of Ooo”, 1000 years later.

BMO is a storyteller who tells the legends of the past to new generations. He is the one who started the harmony by singing “Time Adventure” during the battle against GOLB. BMO has shown us that music, joy and innocence can even wound the universal chaos (GOLB). Will Happen, Happening, Happened “Time is an illusion, helping to provide logic…” The season and “Come Along With Me” finale are not just the ending of a story, but a lament about the nature of time.

As BMO sings, nothing is ever truly over. The moments we spent together, the laughter in the shadow of that tree house, the battles fought and the tears shed; All of them are still happening, will happen and have happened at some point in time. Adventure Time ended Finn and Jake’s story not with a pompous heroic epic, but in a way that befits the natural flow of life. The adventure never ended; he simply passed the torch to new heroes 1000 years later, Shermy and Beth.

As we said goodbye to the Land of Ooo, we left the screen with the sweet peace of knowing that the child growing inside us could now stand on his own feet. Thank you very much to everyone who was with me in this adventure. See you in distant lands.
