THE SUCCESS OF UZAK ŞEHİR CHANGED TOURISM ROUTES Kanal D’s phenomenon series, Uzun Şehir, whose fame goes beyond the borders of the country, continues to contribute to the promotion of Turkey. The impact of the series grew even larger when Ozan Akbaba and Sinem Ünsal became the faces of GoTürkiye, within the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA). The production pioneered the formation of a new tourism trend, especially in North Africa.
Tunisian, Moroccan and Algerian travel agencies changed their routes to the Southeast, especially Mardin, which hosted the shootings. THE DELEGATION VISITED THE SET With the organization of TGA, a special tour was organized for 24 travel agency managers from Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria, covering Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Mardin and Diyarbakır. After visiting the historical points in Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa, the delegation went to Mardin, where the shooting of Far City took place.
The participants visited the set areas in Midyat and met with the actors; chatted and took photos. Many participants said that they learned Turkish by watching the series. TARGET IS ALL AROUND THE WORLD Emre Aybek, one of the directors of the series, stated that they were pleased with the interest of Far City abroad and said: We thank our viewers from Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria. It is very valuable for us that they follow our language and culture.
Producer Aslı Öner emphasized that their goal is to touch audiences all over the world. Öner stated that they were also happy that the series helped people learn Turkish.
