Serdar Ortaç was sentenced to pay compensation by court decision in the copyright case filed regarding the use of the work.
According to the news of Hürriyet, in the lawsuit filed by musician Mehmet Ali Denk, it was claimed that the music of the work called “Yalan” was quoted without permission and used in the work called Same Loves. Denk took the process to court, stating that the work in question was performed by Ebru Gündeş.
In the case heard at the Istanbul Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Civil Court, an examination by the MESAM technical scientific committee found that there was a similarity between the two works.
As a result of the evaluation, the court found the plaintiff right and decided that Serdar Ortaç and Emre Grafson Music should pay the compensation of 75 thousand lira to Mehmet Ali Denk with interest. It was also decided to stop and prevent the unauthorized use of the work.
