Magus Kitap, which aims to bring a visionary breath to Turkey’s rapidly developing speculative fiction and domestic science fiction literature, officially introduced the new novel titled The Game of All Worlds, written by author Gökcan Şahin, which will throw the readers into a reality questioning made of pixels. This ambitious work, which melts near-future dystopias, retro-futuristic elements and game culture in a single pot, not only tells a story, but also discusses the transformative power of technology on human consciousness.
The work stands out as a literary stop that should not be missed on literature shelves, especially for the new generation of readers who have a deep love for cyberpunk aesthetics and nostalgic game consoles. Search for a Lost Reality Under the New Istanbul Domes The adventure the novel takes us to begins in the year 2075, within the technologically isolated New Istanbul Domes, which are considered the pinnacle of futuristic architecture.
Our main character has an old game console from his childhood, whose outer casing has been worn down by time, but has not lost any of its fascinating charm and mystery. When the character inserts a dusty cassette he found in the dark corner of his house into this nostalgic device and turns on the system, the room is filled with nostalgia, curiosity and a wave of excitement that is hard to describe. By pressing the “START” button on the console, all physical reality in the room suddenly breaks; Within seconds, an artificial simulation environment consisting of green-black pixels reminiscent of old computer systems surrounds the environment.
The character realizes with horror that there is no longer a physical screen he can look at, but rather digital codes and the game itself. Meanwhile, a mysterious voice echoing from the darkness saying, “Hello, Ennoen. We missed you so much,” initiates an unprecedented life-and-death struggle that will fundamentally question all the universal truths known to humanity. This fiction, which completely blurs the boundaries between digital and physical existence, takes the reader on a relentless journey into the deep philosophical labyrinths of the Game of All Worlds universe.
