BYD introduced its new rechargeable hybrid model, Dolphin G DM-i, for Europe’s B segment. The model, which comes with a compact hatchback body, will be on sale in the European market with Super Hybrid DM technology, a total range of over 1,000 kilometers and electric driving support in daily use. BYD Dolphin G DM-i is preparing for European roads. BYD Dolphin G DM-i was introduced as the first model developed by the brand for foreign markets, including Europe.

The vehicle is positioned especially in the B segment in Europe and with its compact hatchback body structure, it enters the class that includes models such as Renault Clio, Skoda Fabia and Toyota Yaris. According to the measurements shared by BYD, Dolphin G DM-i has a length of 4.16 meters and a width of 1.825 meters. BYD’s Super Hybrid DM technology is used in the new model. For long-distance use, the gasoline engine and electric motor work together. According to the data announced by BYD, Dolphin G DM-i offers a total range of over 621 miles, or 1,000 kilometers, with a fully charged battery and a full tank of gasoline. BYD states that Dolphin G DM-i provides smooth and powerful acceleration with the electric motor placed on the front axle. The hybrid system increases the range of the vehicle by activating the gasoline engine during long distance drives.

With this structure, the model offers a driving character close to the use of an electric car in the city, while it can travel long distances without having to rely on charging planning. The current line of the brand is preserved in the design of Dolphin G DM-i. The model features slanting headlight structure, curved side window line and roof spoiler. On the hardware side, features such as panoramic ceiling and 360-degree surround view camera are on the agenda.

BYD will share the full equipment levels and technical specifications of the vehicle later within the scope of the European launch. According to BYD’s statement, the full launch of Dolphin G DM-i will be held in June. The model will go on sale in European markets in the coming weeks. The first deliveries are expected to start towards the end of summer. The company will announce the hardware and technical details of the vehicle in different countries during the launch period.

Dolphin G DM-i adds a rechargeable hybrid option to BYD’s fully electric models in its product range in Europe. The company’s European product family also includes hybrid models such as Seal U DM-i. The new Dolphin G DM-i is prepared for users in the B segment with its smaller body structure. BYD is among the manufacturers that develop many basic components in-house, including batteries, electric motors, electronic control units and automotive grade semiconductors in electric and rechargeable hybrid vehicles.

The company’s technologies include Blade Battery, DM-i and DM-p hybrid systems, e-Platform 3.0, CTB, iTAC, DiSus, XUANJI Architecture and Super e-Platform.
