With the one-week trading period coming to an end, many investors are wondering which investment instruments are profitable and which are losing value. In this context, stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul gained an average of 0.23 percent and the dollar gained 0.39 percent on a weekly basis, while gram gold lost 2.58 percent. Euro also decreased by 0.15 percent. BIST 100 index reached the lowest point of 13,661.82 points and the highest point of 14,219.96 points during the week.
The index completed the week at 13,694.19 points, 0.23 percent above last week’s closing. THE DECLINE IN GOLD CONTINUES The gram sales price of 24 carat gold bullion traded in the Grand Bazaar decreased by 2.58 percent this week to 6,469 liras. The sales price of Republic gold also lost 2.56 percent of its value, falling to 43,592 lira. The sales price of quarter gold, which was at 11,122 lira last weekend, decreased by 2.57 percent to 10,836 lira.
DOLLAR GAINED While the US dollar gained 0.39 percent in value this week, rising to 46,084 liras, the euro closed the week at 53,368 liras, losing 0.15 percent in value. Mutual funds gained 1.26 percent this week and pension funds gained 0.78 percent. When examined on a category basis, stock funds with a return of 1.86 percent were the highest-earning funds of the week among mutual funds.
