ELAZIĞ (AA) – Elazığ-Tunceli highway was closed to both directions due to the flood in Kovancılar district of Elazığ.
The downpour, which started suddenly and increased its effect in the district, caused a flood in Karıncaköy village.
Kovancılar-Tunceli highway was closed to transportation as a result of flood waters overflowing onto the road. The driver of a vehicle traveling in the area was stranded.
Upon notice, 112 Emergency Health, AFAD, fire brigade, police, gendarmerie and Special Provincial Administration teams were dispatched to the scene.
As a result of the work carried out by the teams, the person trapped in the vehicle was rescued.
Teams are continuing to reopen the road to traffic.
