ASTANA (AA) – “Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup” attracted great attention from golf enthusiasts in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, this year. Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup amateur golf tournament was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Turkey’s Ambassador to Astana Mustafa Kapucu, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Astana Ağalar Atamoğlanov, World Turkish Business Council (DTİK) Kazakhstan Representative Ahmet Budan and many guests attended the opening ceremony of the tournament.
At the ceremony, awards were presented to the 6 people who came first in various categories in the tournament, and the person who won the first place in the tournament in Astana received the right to compete in the final to be held in Antalya. In his statement to AA correspondent, Ambassador Kapucu stated that the tournament is important for the promotion of THY in Kazakhstan and said, “Turkish Airlines is the largest airline company flying here and therefore we see the tournament as an event that will make a significant contribution to the promotion of THY in Kazakhstan.” he said.
Stating that golf tournaments are a sport that is played at a very high level and appeals to a certain segment of people, Kapucu noted that it is very important for the Kazakhstan market that THY promotes itself both in the sports and social areas by organizing such a highly prestigious tournament. Kapucu added that the interest in the tournament increases every year and that he observed a more active participation this year compared to last year.
