DÜSSELDORF (AA) – The Turkish Film Festival, held for the first time in Düsseldorf, Germany, brought together well-known names of the cinema world. Master actors, directors and producers of Turkish cinema and movie lovers attended the festival held at CineStar under the auspices of the Consulate General of Türkiye in Düsseldorf. Master artist Hülya Koçyiğit, from the Four Leaf Clover of Turkish cinema, was at the festival as the guest of honor.
In his statement to AA correspondent, Koçyiğit said that the films he shot in Germany had an important place in his career. Koçyiğit stated that he spent the longest time in Germany during the films he shot there, and that especially the German film Bitter Homeland was shown in many festivals around the world, and said, “While shooting those films, I saw closely the lifestyles of the citizens here, their expectations and what kind of difficulties they faced.

Pointing out that different branches of art bring societies together, Koçyiğit said that cinema, as well as branches of art such as theater and painting, establish strong bonds between people. Koçyiğit said that cinema is a universal language that explains people to people.
Stating that he was touched when he met Turkish young people born and raised in Europe, Koçyiğit said that some young people told him that they learned Turkish by watching his movies, and this made him happy. Koçyiğit, We really should get closer to each other, embrace each other tighter. Such festivals are tools that bring us closer to each other. he said. Within the scope of the festival, which is held for the first time in Germany and will end tomorrow, film screenings, interviews and artist meetings are held.
