In the incident that shook the agenda in Kastamonu, A.D., who worked as a research assistant at the university, came to the fore with the accusation of sexual assault against a male university student. The incident in question occurred when a university student jumped from the second floor of a house, half-naked, onto a parked vehicle. Research assistant A.D. was arrested by the judgeship on duty, to whom he was referred on charges of “qualified sexual assault”, “deprivation of liberty”, “violation of privacy”, “damage to property”, “threat with a weapon” and “insult”.
In A.D.’s statement released after his arrest, it was stated that he claimed that he had a consensual but “distorted” relationship with the student, and that the student threw him out of the window after the fight on the day of the incident. HE WAS SUSPENDED FROM HIS OFFICE Kastamonu University made a written statement on the issue and stated that A.D. was suspended from duty following the official notifications made by the judicial authorities and an administrative investigation was launched against him.
In the university statement, it was emphasized that such behavior that is incompatible with academic and moral values will not be tolerated in any way. In addition, the following statements were included in the statement: “It was deemed necessary to make this statement in order to inform the public accurately about the administrative process and the allegations made against a personnel working as a research assistant at our university in some press organs and social media platforms recently.
Following the official notification of the relevant incident to our university, the personnel in question was immediately suspended from duty and an administrative process was initiated against him. We emphasize that such behavior will never be allowed in our university, and we inform the public that the process will be followed meticulously.”
