With the new law proposal to be submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly, it is expected that the monthly salary paid to the relatives of martyrs and veterans will be increased to two minimum wages. The Justice and Development Party plans to increase the salaries paid to the relatives of martyrs and veterans with the new bill it will submit to the Parliament. In this context, it is stated that the monthly salary paid to relevant citizens will be increased to two minimum wages.
According to the news of Türkiye newspaper, within the scope of the 14-article bill prepared in line with the request of the Ministry of National Defense, it is aimed to improve the social rights of disabled veterans and relatives of martyrs within the framework of the Anti-Terrorism Law. In line with the relevant proposal, the Law on Cash Compensation and Pensions will be amended. With this change, the right to free transportation and some practices in the tax legislation will be rearranged within the scope of positive discrimination.
SEPARATE MONEY ASSISTANCE TO THE MOTHERS AND FATHERS OF THE MARTYRS While it is expected that the monthly salary of the relatives of the martyrs, which currently reaches 11 thousand 858 liras, will be increased to the level of two minimum wages, within the scope of the new regulation, a monthly payment of two minimum wages will be made per family. In addition, financial support will be provided to the mother and father of the martyr separately, at a total of two minimum wage levels.
The proposal in question also includes a new regulation for the children of martyrs. Accordingly, the current “martyr child ID” of the children of martyrs who are over 25 years old will be changed to “honorary martyr child ID”. While it is planned that a significant part of the rights offered with the new identity will continue after the age of 25, it was stated that especially free transportation will continue.
