Karel Defense Technologies Group President Yavuz Bayız made important statements to the Defensehere.com reporter at the BSDA 2026 fair. Bayız stated that Karel is not a new player in Romania and said, “Karel is not new in Romania, we established a company here about three years ago called Karel Europe and we find Romania important. We are in talks with local companies about establishing a production facility here soon.” Emphasizing that Turkey is very close to Romania and that this country has become a place where Turkish investments are very intense, Bayız said, “We came with the idea of establishing a company for ourselves in Romania.
Let’s bring our products here through this company, cooperate with established companies, meet customer needs from these collaborations, and from here, let’s expand towards the European side.” “They don’t want you to bring solutions and sell them, they want to localize them.” Stating that they are happy to be here, Yavuz Bayız pointed out that it takes time to do great things on the defense side. Bayız said, “It is not easy.
“You will shape the need, you will wait for the need to arise, you will create the appropriate solution and you will create the solution together with the locals, that is the important thing,” he said. Emphasizing that Romanians are in the idea of localization, Bayız said, “They do not want you to bring the solution here and sell it, they want you to localize it here. “They want you to make it customer-specific and produce it here,” he said.
Yavuz Bayız stated that some activities in this direction are continuing and said, “We are in talks with local companies about establishing a production facility here soon.” Stating that they brought the products they introduced at SAHA EXPO to BSDA 2026, Bayız said, “Some of them were showcased for the first time. These products attracted attention in Romania. “We introduced our products that attracted the attention of the local authorities and users here, and we also had the opportunity to introduce ourselves to the local companies here and discuss their possibilities.” Bayız stated that the fair was productive for them and that they were happy to be here, and concluded his words by saying, “We think that we will do good things in Romania and utilize the potential here in some way.”
