The duty of “defense” for domestic software against cyber threats

Turkey has left behind another strategic threshold in the field of cyber security and has entered a new era with local and national solutions in the protection of critical infrastructures.

Turkey has left behind another strategic threshold in the field of cyber security and has entered a new era with local and national solutions in the protection of critical infrastructures. Turkey’s first Endpoint Security Platform (AV-EDR) solution, developed by C-Prot under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and implemented in cooperation with HAVELSAN, was delivered to the Ministry of National Defense at the ceremony held within the scope of SAHA 2026.

According to the statement made by C-Prot, this development stands out as a concrete outcome of Turkey’s goals of reducing foreign dependency in cyber security, protecting its critical systems with domestic technologies and strengthening its digital sovereignty. The platform sets a new standard in endpoint security with its integrated architecture that consolidates Next Generation Antivirus and EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) functions under a single agent.

Thanks to this approach, institutions get rid of fragmented security structures and gain a simpler, faster and more effective security infrastructure. The platform provides deep visibility at endpoints with high-volume telemetry collection and advanced threat detection capabilities, allowing potential threats to be detected at an early stage and rapid intervention. In addition, the solution has been developed to be fully compatible with local and national operating systems, especially Pardus, and provides a high level of integration and operational continuity, especially in public institutions and critical infrastructures.

Endpoint security and EDR technologies are among the systems that are extremely complex to develop and require high engineering, threat intelligence and continuous data processing capability. There are a very limited number of countries that can produce solutions in this field. Countries such as the USA, Israel, Russia and China, as well as Japan and France, are among the actors that can develop this technology. The fact that Turkey has developed a domestic solution in this field is considered an important gain in the transition to the limited technology league.

This platform developed by C-Prot is a critical step that brings Turkey among the countries that not only use these technologies but also have the capacity to develop and export them. Critical layer in terms of defense and cyber sovereignty. The delivery directly coincides with the vision put forward at the Cyber Security Board meeting held on May 5. In this context, it was emphasized that cyber security is an integral part of national security, and the protection of critical infrastructures, data sovereignty and the development of domestic technologies were among the priority areas.

While the use of domestic cyber security solutions in national defense stands out as a strategic necessity, the developed AV-EDR platform is positioned as a critical layer that strengthens Turkey’s cyber sovereignty. The developed AV-EDR platform is aimed to be widely used in the defense industry, energy, finance, public services and other critical infrastructure sectors in the coming period. This delivery is considered an important milestone that strengthens Turkey’s domestic and national capacity in cyber security, reinforces its digital sovereignty and advances its position in global competition.
