Acer has expanded its Predator gaming product family with the new Predator Atlas 8 handheld console. The device, which comes with the model code PA08-I51, comes with options up to Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor, graphics unit up to Intel Arc B390, 8-inch WUXGA 120 Hz touch screen, battery up to 80 Wh, Predator AeroBlade cooling system, Windows 11 and XBOX Game Pass support. Acer Predator Atlas 8 offers PC games in a portable form factor. It was announced as a new Windows 11 handheld console prepared to run. The device comes with processor options ranging up to the Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor. On the graphics side, there are options up to Intel Arc B390. The product family also includes the Intel Arc G3 processor and Intel Arc B370 graphics option. Predator Atlas 8 runs on Windows 11 Home operating system.
The device offers the advantages of Windows 11 gaming experiences, including XBOX Mode, in the form of a handheld console. Out of the box, 2-month subscription support is provided for XBOX Game Pass Premium and 3-month subscription support for PC Game Pass. This structure gives access to Windows-based games, launchers, system tools and settings on a single device. In his statement for Predator Atlas 8, Acer COO Jerry Kao said that they brought together the Predator design philosophy with the power of Intel Arc G-Series processors.
Kao stated that the device gives players more control in different gaming scenarios with the Predator AeroBlade cooling system, PredatorSense and adaptive trigger controls. Intel Client Computing Group Senior Vice President and General Manager Jim Johnson stated that handheld console gamers want PC-class performance without being tied to the desktop or charger. Johnson stated that technologies such as long battery life, smooth gaming experience and AI-supported XeSS 3 upscaling are offered in a portable form factor with Intel Arc G-Series processors and Acer Predator Atlas 8.
On the hardware side of Predator Atlas 8, there are Intel Arc G-Series processors. Graphics options up to Intel Arc B390 come with ray tracing support. Intel XeSS 3 technology is also among the important topics of the device. AI-powered upscaling technology is used to maintain frame rate, reduce stuttering and lower input lag under heavy GPU loads. The device also features Intel Endurance Gaming technology. This technology makes battery usage more efficient by balancing frame rate and power consumption.
Predator Atlas 8 is offered with a battery option of up to 80 Wh. The technical specifications include a 4-cell Li-ion battery with 4S1P structure. The device comes with a 65W Type-C power adapter. On the adapter side, there are two options: wall type and brick type. The screen of Predator Atlas 8 is 8 inches in size. Offering WUXGA resolution, the panel comes with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10.
The IPS level screen has a 120 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness and VRR support. The panel offers 100 percent sRGB and 77.68 percent Adobe color coverage. There is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and Gorilla Glass DXC protection on the screen. This glass structure provides protection against scratches and reflection reduction. The touch panel comes with 10-point multi-touch support. With this screen structure, Acer provides smooth movement, high brightness and a wider vertical viewing area during portable gaming.
On the cooling side, the Predator AeroBlade system from the Predator laptop family is used. Predator Atlas 8 has a structure with two fans. One of the fans is positioned as a metal Predator AeroBlade fan, the other as a plastic fan. Acer states that the metal fan is used for the first time in a handheld console. The Metal Predator AeroBlade fan comes with 89 blades with a thickness of 0.1 mm and provides an increase in air flow of up to 10 percent.
The cooling system also includes Vortex Flow adjustment. Angled internal channels direct the air inside the body and allow hot air to be expelled faster. This system is used to keep the processor, graphics unit and in-body thermal values under control during intense gaming loads. Predator Atlas 8 can be configured with up to 24 GB LPDDR5x 7467 MT/s memory. On the storage side, up to 1 TB capacity is offered via a single PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD slot.
The SSD slot supports the 2280 form factor. A UHS-II microSD card reader is also included on the device for external storage expansion. The card reader supports up to SD 4.0 and is compatible with SD, SDXC, SDHC and SDUC cards. There are two Thunderbolt 4 ports on the connection side. These ports can be used for dock connection, display output and accessories requiring high bandwidth. The device also includes a 3.5 mm combo audio jack.
In wireless connection, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 BE1775s and Bluetooth 5.4 support is offered. On the audio side, two 2 watt speakers are used. The device has Realtek ALC712 audio solution, DTS Ultra and Hi-Res Audio support. There are two built-in microphones for communication. Acer PurifiedVoice technology reduces background sounds in in-game chats with AI-supported noise reduction. The control layout of Predator Atlas 8 includes A, B, X, Y keys, D-Pad, L/R full-size analog joysticks, There is a fingerprint sensor on the power button.
The device also offers volume up and down keys, L/R macro keys and L/R adjustable trigger switches. L2/R2 Hall-effect analog triggers are used in the trigger structure. The dual-mode design allows trigger response to be changed depending on the type of game. Micro-switch mode provides instant click response in FPS games. Hall-effect analog control is used in racing games, flight simulations and games that require a wider trigger range.
The PredatorSense application is included in a Predator handheld console for the first time. The app provides live system monitoring, performance mode selection, RGB lighting customization and access to game settings. The special PredatorSense button on the device is used for quick setting changes during the game. The dimensions of Predator Atlas 8 are announced as 299 x 127.4 x 28.5/58.37 mm. The weight will be under 810 grams with an 80 Wh battery and under 770 grams with a 60 Wh battery.
Acer will offer Predator Atlas 8 for sale in the EMEA region starting from October 2026. Exact features, prices and availability will vary by region.
