AMD released the Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card to the world. The model, which was previously limited to the Chinese market, was offered for global sale with a starting price of $549. The card included in the Radeon RX 9000 series comes with RDNA 4 architecture, 12 GB GDDR6 memory, 192-bit memory bus and 1440p gaming performance-oriented technical structure. AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE was introduced. Radeon RX 9070 GRE became one of the new global options of the Radeon RX 9000 series in AMD’s desktop graphics card family.
The card is technically positioned below the Radeon RX 9070. While the standard Radeon RX 9070 model has 56 Compute Units, 3,584 stream processors, 16 GB GDDR6 memory and 256-bit memory bus, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE side uses 48 Compute Units, 3,072 stream processors, 12 GB GDDR6 memory and 192-bit memory bus. The model is based on Navi 48 based on RDNA 4 architecture. It has a graphics processor. According to the technical data shared by AMD, Radeon RX 9070 GRE comes with a gaming frequency of 2,220 MHz and a boost frequency of up to 2,790 MHz.
The card includes 48 ray tracing accelerators, 96 AI accelerators and 96 ROPs. While FP32 vector performance is announced as 34.3 TFLOPS, FP16 matrix performance is given at 137 TFLOPS. On the memory side, there is 12 GB GDDR6 capacity. The memory has a speed of 18 Gbps and operates over a 192-bit memory bus. This structure allows the card to offer memory bandwidth of up to 432 GB / s. The Radeon RX 9070 GRE has 48 MB AMD Infinity Cache.
The typical card power of the card is listed as 220W. AMD recommends at least 650W power supply on the system side. Two 8-pin power connectors are used as additional power connections. On the operating system support side, there are Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11 64-bit and Linux x86 64-bit. DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b support are available in the display outputs. The card comes with support for 4K H.264 decoding and encoding, H.265/HEVC decoding and encoding, AV1 decoding and AV1 encoding.
These supports enable hardware-accelerated media capabilities in video production and broadcast workflows as well as the gaming side. AMD’s official product page also includes game results shared at 1440p Ultra settings for the Radeon RX 9070 GRE. According to AMD’s own tests, the card achieved 100 FPS in Arc Raiders, 115 FPS in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, 82 FPS in The Last of Us Part 2, 86 FPS in Horizon Forbidden West, 108 FPS in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, 100 FPS in Ghost of Tsushima, 144 FPS in the ray tracing enabled scenario of Forza Horizon 5 and Grand Theft.
It produces 116 FPS in Auto V Enhanced’s ray tracing enabled scenario. These tests were conducted in AMD performance laboratories in May 2026. Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, 32 GB DDR5-6000 memory, Windows 11 Pro, X870E motherboard, Radeon RX 9070 GRE 12 GB graphics card and 26.5.2 driver were used in the test system. AMD states that different configurations of system manufacturers may cause differences in results. The model, which is available for global sales, stands at a remarkable point in terms of its starting price. The $549 price announced for the Radeon RX 9070 GRE is at the same level as the recommended sales price of the Radeon RX 9070 during its release period. On the other hand, the GRE model comes with lower memory capacity and narrower memory bus. Specially designed models are expected to stand out in the worldwide sales of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE.
It is on the agenda for the card to enter the market with specially cooled models from manufacturers such as ASUS, Sapphire and XFX. Instead of the reference design, special models with double fans and three fans, which vary depending on the manufacturer, are expected to be listed. There is no official statement for the price in Turkey yet. The price of the card in the local market will vary depending on the distributor channel, exchange rate level, tax items and the cooling structure of the specially designed models.
