During the shooting of the Survivor Greece competition in the Dominican Republic, there was a serious marine accident involving one of the contestants, Stavros Floros. The incident occurred outside the competition shooting area, while Floros was spearfishing. According to preliminary findings, a tourist speedboat passing through the area hit the contestant who was diving on the surface of the water. He was immediately taken to the hospital.
After the crash, the surrounding teams and the production crew quickly intervened and pulled Floros out of the water. While first aid was administered to the contestant at the scene, he was later referred to the local health center. In the initial evaluations made at the hospital, it was reported that Floros had serious damage to his left foot and suffered partial limb loss, as well as serious injuries to his right ankle.
Health Condition is Serious In the official information made by the production company, it was stated that the health condition of the contestant was at a critical level, but the danger to his life was under control. It was reported that Floros’ treatment continued in intensive care conditions. Authorities stated that unverified public information regarding the incident should not be relied upon. The Competition Has Been Suspended Indefinitely After the accident, the broadcaster SKAI and the production team announced that the shooting of Survivor Greece has been suspended indefinitely.
It was stated that the decision was taken due to both the health condition of the contestant and the official investigation process. A comprehensive investigation has been launched into how the incident occurred.
