While the investigation into Gülistan Doku, who disappeared in Tunceli on January 5, 2020 and has not been heard from since, has been deepened, it has been claimed in recent weeks that the file has begun to be handled within the scope of suspicion of murder, not within the scope of a missing case. While various allegations were brought to the agenda within the scope of the investigation, it was stated that a red notice was issued and a search was started for Umut Altaş, who was shown as one of the key figures in the file.
“THE CLOSEST WITNESS OF THE INCIDENT” While Altaş, who was recently detained in the USA, was expected to be extradited to Turkey, the Minister of Justice said in his statement about Altaş, “We think he is an important person. We demand his extradition. Altaş is the person who can shed light on this incident because he is the closest witness of the incident.” Following diplomatic initiatives carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was claimed that the US judicial authorities decided to extradite Altaş to Turkey.
“I WILL TELL EVERYTHING I KNOW” Altaş, who is detained in the USA, said in his statement to the authorities: “I will tell the prosecutor everything I know. I will be sent back to Turkey. I have the proof of everything.
