In the news of the Ynet website, it was stated that the UAV production and maintenance center opened in the city of Chitila is the 7th facility opened by Elbit Systems in this country. It was reported that Yoram Shmueli, General Manager of Elbit Systems’ Aerospace Department, and senior Romanian officials attended the opening of the facility.

The news emphasized that the production facility in question was built within the scope of the UAV program called “Watchkeeper XR” that Romania carries out with Israel. It was noted that Elbit Systems, which has been operating in Romania for more than 30 years, has a total of 7 factories across the country, including aircraft modernization, electro-optics, tower systems and the recently opened UAV production and maintenance center.

– The Israeli company had signed various agreements with Greece and Serbia. The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced on April 6 that an agreement worth 2.3 billion shekels (Approximately 757.84 million dollars) had been signed to ensure the supply of PULS (Multi-purpose launch system) type multiple rocket launcher systems produced by Elbit Systems to the Greek army. In the news of the Israel-based Haaretz newspaper and the Balkan Investigative Journalists Network (BIRN) on April 7, it was reported that a UAV factory would soon be opened in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.

It was stated that the UAV factory in question would be jointly owned by Jugoimport-SDPR, Serbia’s leading state arms export company, and Israeli Elbit Systems. Elbit Systems had signed two major defense agreements with Serbia in the last two years. In January 2025, Elbit Systems sold $335 million worth of artillery systems and advanced UAVs to Serbia. The Belgrade administration signed a second agreement worth $1.6 billion with Elbit Systems in August 2025 for the purchase of UAVs, long-range missiles and electronic warfare systems.
