Suna Selen, one of the master names of Turkish cinema, made remarkable statements after years about her marriage with Münir Özkul in the program she attended. Describing their marriage as an unconventional relationship, Selen said, “Münir told me ‘I need fresh blood’. He said ‘You are very serious’. We were just friends. In other words, we were never lovers. In a sense, we were not husband and wife either.” Suna Selen shared a detail about her daughters’ names for the first time in the “Sweet Interviews” program.
Selen stated that Münir Özkul’s first wife, Şadan Özkul, wanted her name to be included in their children’s names and said: “For example, we had a child. He said to name the child after me. Münir said, Şadan wants his name to be named after her, too. I said let’s name it. We named my daughter Güner Şadan Özkul. Then, after a while, Şadan Hanım made a second request. That is, after Münir stopped drinking and became completely clean.
