Following the incident, the murderer suspect, S.A., was caught and detained with the weapon he used in the attack. While the investigation into the murder was continuing, journalist Seyhan Avşar shared the first information she received on her social media account.

In his post, Avşar said, “I have reached the first details of the investigation into the murder of Dilan Polat’s driver Can Polat. The perpetrator said that he received the instruction from the Daltons gang and learned the position of the Polat family from Dilan Polat’s posts.” According to the information in the post, the suspect claimed that his main target was Engin Polat, but he could not carry out the action due to the security measures at the points where Polat was located.

It was reported that the suspect said that he targeted a person close to the Polat family in line with the instructions he received. On the other hand, it was learned that Engin Polat stated in his first statement that they had been threatened by the Daltons for a long time. It was noted that Polat, who was stated to have previously given a statement to the police units on this issue, said that they were not involved in any incidents during their holiday in Çeşme, that they did not receive any threats against themselves, and that they did not suspect that they were being followed.
