Halfeti district of Şanlıurfa, which has the appearance of a coastal city thanks to the Birecik Dam Lake, attracted great attention from visitors who want to spend time in touch with nature in the city. – There was a flood of people. Şanlıurfa Tourism Development Association President Mehmet Kamil Türkmen told the AA correspondent that the interest of local and foreign tourists in the city continues to increase. Stating that they expect the density in the city to increase in the coming period, Türkmen said, “We can say that Şanlıurfa tourism experienced two holidays at once.” With the 9-day holiday, every place was packed, especially in Şanlıurfa.

So, so to speak, our guests started to arrive in groups. In Göbeklitepe, in Balıklıgöl, in Halfeti, in Harran, Hz. There was a flood of people in Prophet Eyyüp. The fact that the 9-day holiday was completed with a 100 percent occupancy rate gave us a sign that the upcoming period and the autumn season will be better. he said. – Almost every part of Şanlıurfa was filled to overflowing. Müslüm Çoban, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Şanlıurfa Tourist Guides Chambers Association, also stated that they hosted a large group of tourists during the holiday period.

Explaining that good weather conditions encourage people to travel, Çoban said: We can say that almost every part of Şanlıurfa is full. It was very fruitful. Our hotels have reached almost 100 percent occupancy rate. All our travel agencies, tourist guides and transporters worked very hard. Eid al-Adha was very busy. Our guests who cannot find a place in hotels during Eid al-Adha will now create a tourism density that will last until the middle of June and maybe until the end of June.

This situation gives us great hope for the increase in our tourism figures in 2026. The busy months of April and May set an important example for next September, October and November. We expect density to occur during that period as well.
