ARTVİN (AA) – The 7th stage of the 14th Grassroots Football Festival for All, organized in Artvin’s Arhavi district with the aim of adding value to the sports culture and moral development of children through football, was held. Approximately 200 primary school students in the 6-10 age group participated in the festival organized at Arhavi District Stadium under the coordination of the District Governorate and with the contributions of Arhavi Municipality, Youth and Sports and Provincial Directorates of National Education.
On the last day of the festival, mixed teams of boys and girls played football. Students who behaved in accordance with fair play rules during the match were rewarded by the referee by showing them a blue card. Families who came to watch the matches supported their children. Arhavi District Governor Burak Çimşir, in his statement, stated that Arhavi is a district that attaches importance to art, culture and sports activities, and said that the organization is not just a football event, but students learn the spirit of sharing and fair play.
TRT Sports Announcer Erdoğan Arıkan, who attended the event, said that he had very good days for sports at the football festival. Sports commentator Melih Gümüşbıçak said that he has been participating in the event in the district for years and that the festival contributes to children’s growth in sports.
