Experts made a statement regarding the victimization of citizens regarding sacrificial animals before or during the Eid-al-Adha, and emphasized that fraud cases have increased, especially in the sale of sacrificial animals online, through social media or by deposit method.
In this context, experts stated that citizens can legally get back the money they paid in cases where the sacrificial animal is not delivered to the citizens, does not have the promised features or does not comply with the health conditions.

CORRESPONDENCE IS EVIDENCE
Experts pointed out that concrete evidence such as written documents, receipts, contracts or message records must be present during shopping in order to prevent people who buy sacrificial animals from suffering any grievance, and explained that especially payments made via IBAN and digital correspondence are important evidence in a possible legal process.
Experts underlined that citizens should apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee, prosecutors’ offices or relevant institutions in case of suspicion of defective service or fraud, and recommended that when buying sacrificial animals, purchase from businesses approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

THINGS TO CONSIDER
Experts also emphasized that one should be careful about sacrificial animals sold below the market price and stated that it is extremely important to check the animal’s tag number, health report and shipping documents.
Experts pointed out that citizens should be aware of fraudsters who want to turn the increasing sales of sacrificial animals into an opportunity, especially before Eid-al-Adha, and stated that it is of great importance for citizens who experience any grievance to apply to official institutions without wasting time in order to prevent financial losses.
