It was claimed that US intelligence had obtained findings that China was considering providing advanced radar systems to Tehran after the war that started with the US and Israel’s attacks on Iran. According to CBS News, based on sources familiar with the matter, US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) analysts claimed that they detected that China is considering the option of providing Iran with particularly advanced radar systems.
It is evaluated that these systems can significantly increase Iran’s capacity to detect threats such as low-altitude unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and cruise missiles. Officials, who did not want to be named, stated that it is not yet clear whether China carried out this transfer, and stated that the findings raise concerns in Washington that the conflicts in Iran are not only limited to the countries in the region but may also spread to other actors.
In addition, officials reported that US intelligence indicates that Beijing is also considering transferring air defense systems to Iran through third countries to hide direct intervention. DIA, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the White House did not comment on the issue. Source: AA
