Sales in China are expected to start on June 10. What do vivo Head-Mounted Noise-Canceling Headphones offer? Vivo’s first over-ear headphone is available in two color options, Cloud White and Breeze Purple. On the official product page, these colors are listed as Cloud Mist White and Breeze Purple in the Chinese market. The headset measures 181.6 x 147.6 x 86.3 mm and weighs approximately 238 grams. vivo gives a tolerance of ±5 grams for weight.
On the design side, the hinge structure of the headset is positioned to reduce hair pulling. The headset features a fully covered soft headband, slow-rebound sponge and a skin-friendly leather-textured exterior. The ear pads contain memory acoustic foam. vivo states that the ear cushions are soft and fully covering to ensure comfort during long-term use with glasses. The headset has an active noise canceling system. According to the data shared by vivo, the model can suppress up to 99.9 percent of daily life noise.
The average noise reduction depth was announced as 31 dB, and the maximum noise reduction depth was announced as 58 dB. The headset offers different noise canceling modes according to transportation scenarios such as airplanes, subways and buses. The adaptive noise canceling system monitors the environmental noise and the fit of the ear pads in real time. The system can recalibrate when the position of the headset changes due to head movement.
The headset switches between light, standard and deep noise canceling options depending on the level of ambient noise. This adaptive system only works in Bluetooth mode; It is not supported in wired connection. On the audio side, a 40 mm large dynamic driver was used in the model. The driver includes a composite biological diaphragm and a high-efficiency magnetic circuit. The headset supports the frequency range of 20 Hz to 40 kHz.
On the audio codec side, there is AAC, SBC and LDAC support. The model has wired and wireless Hi-Res Audio certification. vivo offers DeepX 3.0 stereo sound effects and special sound profile support in the headset. Users can change the sound character with the ten-band EQ setting. The spatial audio engine developed by vivo Golden Ear Acoustics Lab can transform standard stereo content into a 360-degree surround sound experience.
This feature provides software-based environmental sound processing for movies, games and music. On the connection side, the headset can be connected to three devices at the same time: phone, tablet and computer. Users can quickly switch between devices. Multiple device management is possible via the vivo Earphones application. Some features on vivo and iQOO phones work more deeply with the system. Application installation is required on devices other than vivo or iQOO.
The model comes with Bluetooth 5.4 connection support. The technical specifications section includes the BES2710Y-8X chip platform. On the gaming side, latency drops to 47 ms in a full connection chain. The headset also has a low latency mode. On the battery side, vivo provides up to 75 hours of music listening time with noise canceling turned off. When noise canceling is on, this time drops to 35 hours. Up to 9 hours of use can be provided with a 10-minute charge.
Full charging time was announced as 2.5 hours. The headset is charged via the USB Type-C port. Vivo’s battery data is based on tests conducted in a laboratory environment. In the 10-minute fast charging test, the headset was charged from a completely empty state, and music was played at 50 percent volume, with the AAC codec, in MP3 format, with sound effects and noise canceling turned off. 75-hour usage data was measured in a scenario with 50 percent volume, AAC codec, noise cancellation and sound effects turned off.
The 35-hour value given with noise cancellation turned on is based on laboratory testing with 50 percent volume level and AAC codec. On the wired usage side, the headset can be used with a USB-A – Type-C audio cable or Type-C – Type-C cable that supports data transfer. vivo states that analog converter cables such as 3.5 mm – Type-C, 2.5 mm – Type-C and 6.5 mm – Type-C are not supported. Control support via the vivo Earphones application does not work in wired connection.
There are also physical control keys on the headset. On the side of the headset, there is a noise canceling/Bluetooth button, volume wheel and power button. The headset turns on and off when the power button is pressed for 3 seconds. A single press of the same button activates the play/pause function for music and the answer/hang up function for calls. Double press moves to the next track in music, rejects incoming calls.
Pressing it three times returns to the previous track. The noise canceling/Bluetooth button also has a dual function. When you press and hold this button for 3 seconds, Bluetooth pairing mode is turned on. You can switch between noise canceling, closed mode and transparent mode with a single press. Transparent mode allows environmental sounds to be heard without removing the headset. Software features also include special connection animations.
The headset has two built-in pet-themed pop-up effects called “Huahua” and “Doudou.” Users can create a link window by uploading their own photos. Additionally, special visuals can be produced by entering keywords through the Xiao V drawing engine. For these features to work, a compatible vivo or iQOO phone, i Theme application and OriginOS version conditions are required. On the AI side, the headset comes with vivo’s AI assistant features.
The AI smart announcement feature can voice important notifications such as cargo delivery, flight status and train information. The smart translation feature provides speech translation support. On the voice control side, users can wake up Xiao V and perform operations such as music control, phone call and weather inquiry.
