Ryzen 7 7700X3D, which AMD has not yet officially introduced, appeared in the current release notes of CPU-Z. Support for the new processor was added in CPU-Z 2.20.1 released by CPUID. The list shows that AMD is preparing to expand the Zen 4-based X3D family with a new model.

Ryzen 7 7700X3D confirmed with CPU-Z support

In the CPU-Z 2.20.1 release notes, the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D was included under the codename Raphael. This addition revealed that preparations have begun for the processor to be recognized on the software side and reported correctly in system information tools. In the CPUID list, there are also different AMD Ryzen AI, Ryzen PRO, Intel Core and Intel Arc Pro models with the same version.

According to current information, Ryzen 7 7700X3D is being prepared for the AM5 platform based on Zen 4 architecture. It is reported that the processor will come with 8 cores and 16 threads. The most striking aspect of the model is its 96 MB L3 cache protection. This value is at the same level as Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

The new processor appears to be a lower clock speed X3D model positioned below the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. According to previously shared information, Ryzen 7 7700X3D will work with 4.0 GHz base frequency and 4.5 GHz increased frequency. Ryzen 7 7800X3D has a base frequency of 4.2 GHz and an increased frequency of up to 5.0 GHz.

This difference can create a performance difference, especially in scenarios that are more sensitive to processor frequency. On the other hand, preserving the 96 MB L3 cache will allow the model to maintain the advantages specific to the X3D family on the gaming side. AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology is the key element that makes Ryzen X3D models stand out, especially in games that make extensive use of the processor cache.

The information shared for Ryzen 7 7700X3D includes the 120W TDP value. This value is at the same level as Ryzen 7 7800X3D. It is also reported that the processor will carry the same integrated graphics unit. However, AMD has not yet shared a product page, official technical sheet, release date or price information.

AMD’s Ryzen 7000 X3D family currently includes models such as Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D and Ryzen 9 7950X3D. The company later expanded this series with models such as Ryzen 5 7600X3D and Ryzen 5 7500X3D. Ryzen 7 7700X3D is also added in this line, as a new lower-frequency alternative among the 8-core X3D options.

Ryzen 7 7800X3D comes with 8 cores, 16 threads, 96 MB L3 cache, 120W TDP, 4.2 GHz base clock speed and increased frequency up to 5.0 GHz. The technical structure discussed for Ryzen 7 7700X3D reduces the clock speeds while maintaining the same level on the core, thread, cache and TDP side.

It is not yet known when AMD will introduce the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. The addition of support on the CPU-Z side was one of the important signs that the processor was approaching the launch process. Until the official announcement, AMD is expected to announce the price, regional sales plan and final technical details.
