The Romanian Ministry of Defense announced that during Russia’s night attacks against Ukraine, a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) entered Romanian airspace and crashed into an apartment building, and 2 people were injured in the incident. According to the statement made by the Ministry, Russia restarted its attacks against civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine last night. After UAVs flying near Romanian airspace were detected by radars, two F-16 fighter jets and a helicopter took off and supported the operation.

Russian-made Geran-2 type UAV, which was followed to the south of Galati city, crashed on the roof of an apartment building. Two people injured in the fire that broke out due to the impact were taken to the hospital. Authorities reported that the UAV’s entire ammunition load exploded upon impact.
