As the weather warms up, precautions against forest fires are being taken across the country, and another precaution came from Izmir. In its statement, Izmir Governorship announced that unauthorized entries to a total of 91 forest areas across the province were prohibited between June 1 and October 31. Accordingly, criminal action will be taken against people who enter forest areas without permission, in accordance with the Misdemeanor Law and the Forest Law.

ROUTES WILL BE USED WITH A GUIDE. The Governorship stated that within the scope of the decision aimed at preventing forest fires, taking breaks, picnics and burning stubble on the forest edges are prohibited, and announced that necessary actions will be taken against those who do not comply with the rules. In addition, it was stated that some of the walking stages within the scope of the “Efeler Road Cultural Route Project” pass through prohibited forest areas.

It was stated that these routes can be used with a guide and provided that the relevant forest management directorates are informed in advance. ONLY DESIGNATED PICNIC AREAS CAN BE USED. In addition, the governorship announced that only officially designated picnic areas can be used provided that the necessary security measures are taken, and that the fires burned in these areas must be completely extinguished before leaving and the environment must be left clean.

Burning of stubble, vineyards or vegetation during field cleaning in residential areas in and around the forest will not be allowed.
