New information continues to come regarding the bus accident that occurred in Sarayköy district of Denizli and in which 8 people lost their lives. In the accident that occurred at night near the Tırkaz District of the Aydın-Denizli Highway, the driver of the bus traveling between Izmir and Antalya lost control of the steering wheel and the vehicle went out of control and crashed into the barriers. In the accident, 8 people, including a baby, died and 33 people were injured.

While it was learned that there were 38 passengers and 3 officials on the bus, the driver Mustafa Fevzi Merdun, as well as the passengers Merve Erik, Fatma Kartal, Gülitay Boğa, Zehra Eyioğlu, Hayriye Arıkan, Civan Şen and Eyüp Miraç Şen, who covered herself to protect her 9-month-old baby during the disaster, lost their lives in the vehicle that turned into a ball of fire after the accident.

It was stated that the exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined due to the tachograph and vehicle camera being burned out and investigations are continuing. HE RECEIVED TRAFFIC PENALTY 36 TIMES According to the statements of the passengers who survived the accident, the driver Mustafa Fevzi Merdun pulled the vehicle to the side of the road approximately 20 minutes before the accident due to a malfunction in the bus, went down to check, and then continued on his way.

According to Nefes’s report, while it was evaluated that the accident may have occurred because the driver Merdun was sleeping or distracted, it was revealed that the driver had received 36 traffic tickets, including drunk driving.
