MUĞLA (AA) – The Turkish citizen female patient on the cruise ship, whose crew became ill while traveling from İzmir’s Çeşme district to Greece’s Rhodes Island, was evacuated by the sea ambulance belonging to the Bodrum Sea Rescue Association. The Turkish crew working on the 200-meter-long cruise ship Blue Sapphire, departing from Çeşme Port, fell ill. When the ship stopped in front of Bodrum, it was decided to transfer the sick personnel to a full-fledged hospital.
Last night, the ship agency contacted the Bodrum Sea Rescue Association and requested help. Following the notice, 112 emergency medical teams assigned by the Muğla Provincial Health Directorate took action in coordination with the association officials. In line with the decision of the ship’s doctors that an urgent operation was required, the fully equipped Yaşam sea ambulance, departing from Bodrum Milta Marina, reached the coast of Karaada late at night and boarded the cruise ship.
In the operation carried out under the coordination of the Coast Guard Command, the teams took the female patient, a Turkish citizen, who was delivered by the ship’s personnel, to the sea ambulance and brought her to Bodrum Milta Marina. It was reported that the health condition of the personnel who was taken to a private hospital in Bodrum is good and his treatment continues.
