ANKARA (AA) – The passenger plane, which was preparing to take off from Esenboğa Airport, was evacuated after the portable charger in the cabin caught fire.
While the plane, which was picking up passengers from Esenboğa Airport, was heading towards the runway for take-off, smoke started to come out from the portable charger in the hand luggage belonging to passenger T.T (19).
Thereupon, the pilot of the plane contacted the Esenboğa Air Traffic Control Tower and reported the situation.
The small fire that broke out in the device was intervened and extinguished in a short time. Meanwhile, the passengers on the plane were evacuated.
Police teams started an investigation and detained passenger T.T.
