While the SCT exemption regulation for millions of retirees who want to buy a vehicle has come to the fore again, important details regarding the scope of the regulation have also emerged. According to the information obtained, it was claimed that the regulation in question would not cover every retiree. Accordingly, while some conditions are expected to be taken into consideration in the possible change, it was stated that especially headlines such as income level, age requirement and social support status may be effective in the evaluation process.

In addition, claims that the change will be limited to only some vehicle models have also come to the fore. While it is stated that only Bağ-Kur retirees who meet certain conditions can benefit from this regulation, retirees with the status of tradesmen and craftsmen within the framework of Law No. 5362 and Bağ-Kur retirees who receive old-age pension will be able to benefit from the right of exemption. However, it was stated that retirees covered by SSI and Pension Fund cannot benefit from this regulation.

Price and engine volume limits for vehicles that can be purchased within the scope of SCT exemption have also been announced. Accordingly, vehicles with a sales price below 2 million 873 thousand 972 liras will be evaluated within the scope of exemption. VEHICLES WITHIN THE SCOPE OF SCT EXEMPTION While the engine volume limit for passenger vehicles is determined as 1600 cubic centimeters, this limit can be up to 2200 cubic centimeters for commercial vehicles.

At the same time, it was stated that in order to benefit from the SCT exemption, the vehicle to be purchased must be at least 40 percent domestic production. It was stated that the vehicles that meet these conditions include Togg T10X and T10F, Fiat Egea Sedan and Cross, Renault Clio and Renault Megane Sedan, Hyundai i20 and Bayon and some Toyota Corolla and C-HR Hybrid models. The proposal is expected to become clear after the commission and general assembly processes.
