The High Speed 25 mm Gun (YHT-25) Project contract was signed between the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and ASELSAN Konya within the scope of SAHA 2026. SAHA 2026 International Defense, Aerospace Industry Fair was held at Istanbul Expo Center with the organization of SAHA Istanbul, the largest defense, aviation and space industry cluster of Turkey and Europe. According to the statement made by ASELSAN Konya, at the event where Anadolu Agency (AA) is the Global Communication Partner, the YHT-25 Project contract was signed between the two institutions at a ceremony attended by SSB President Haluk Görgün and ASELSAN Konya General Manager Serhan Özsoy.
The signed agreement is the first weapons development project agreement implemented by ASELSAN Konya with the SSB. In this respect, the project is of strategic importance in terms of developing the company’s weapons design, production and testing capabilities. Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to gain skills to evaluate the YHT-25 system, which will be developed with local and national resources, in different usage areas, especially the platforms in the inventory.
The medium-caliber high-speed gun systems to be developed by ASELSAN Konya are planned to be used as components in ASELSAN’s air defense systems, as well as remote-controlled weapon systems integrated into land and sea platforms. The aim of the contract is to reduce foreign dependency in the defense industry, increase the rate of localization in critical systems and contribute to the development of high value-added technologies.
