Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE) AŞ signed a memorandum of understanding with MIRAS Defense Industry Company affiliated with the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense regarding the modernization of armored vehicles. The memorandum of understanding was signed by MKE General Manager İlhami Keleş and MIRAS General Manager Khanbaba Sultanli within the scope of SAHA 2026 International Defense, Aerospace Industry Fair held at Istanbul Expo Center, where Anadolu Agency (AA) is the global communication partner.

Speaking here, Keleş wished that the agreement would be beneficial for both parties and said: “Azerbaijan is a country that we approach and work with with the motto of ‘one nation, two states’. In Azerbaijan, we established Machinery and Chemistry Azerbaijan. We are currently establishing a cartridge factory there for the Azerbaijani defense industry. Now, within the scope of this contract with MIRAS, we are interested in both the modernization of BMP-1s and the integration of TOLGA towers on BMP-1.” “We aim to carry out joint production.
