ASELSAN announced that it signed new contracts with the Presidency of Defense Industries in the fields of public security communications, satellite and space systems. According to the statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform, the total value of the contracts was announced as 845 million dollars. Within the scope of the contracts, it is aimed to meet the public secure communication needs and satellite communication systems with national solutions.
Deliveries are planned to start from 2026. Public security and satellite communications are in focus. The contracts signed between ASELSAN and SSB cover the supply of public security communications and satellite and space systems. These areas are of strategic importance, especially in terms of crisis management, security operations, military communications, disaster communications and protection of critical infrastructures.
Secure communication systems are seen as one of the basic elements in defense and public security projects as they enable uninterrupted and encrypted communication between units in the field. The satellite communication side can provide communication continuity in cases where the terrestrial infrastructure is insufficient or disabled. Communication infrastructure will play a critical role in the ÇELİKKUBBE architecture.
ASELSAN’s communication technologies will also play an important role in the ÇELİKKUBBE architecture, which is positioned as Turkey’s air defense ecosystem. In such multi-layered systems, radar, command control, missiles, sensors and different defense elements must be able to share instant data. Therefore, the communication infrastructure is not only a support element that provides data transfer; It is considered a fundamental component that directly affects the interoperability of systems and the speed of decision-making.
ASELSAN also focuses on new areas in communication technologies. ASELSAN was founded in 1975 to meet the communication needs of the Turkish Armed Forces with national means. To date, the company has carried out projects in areas such as radio systems, encrypted communication solutions, tactical field communications, satellite communication systems and secure network architectures. The company’s future focus areas include LEO communication satellites, military 5G solutions, 6G communication technologies and quantum information technologies.
These topics are important in terms of lower latency, higher capacity, more secure data transfer and more flexible network architectures in defense communications. Deliveries will start in 2026. The 845 million dollar contract has a remarkable size in terms of ASELSAN’s business volume in defense electronics and communication systems. However, the impact of the projects on the field will become clear with the delivery schedule, system integration, localization rate and operational usage performance.
While communication infrastructures are becoming increasingly critical in the global security environment, these contracts between ASELSAN and SSB can be considered as a new step towards strengthening Turkey’s secure communication and satellite-based communication capabilities.
