ANTALYA (AA) – Antalya State Opera and Ballet (DOB) will present the opera Attila, one of Giuseppe Verdi’s early masterpieces, to art lovers as the last premiere of this season. According to the statement made by Antalya DOB, Attila, one of the important works of the world opera repertoire, is brought to the stage by director Yiğit Günsoy. The production, which attracts attention with its magnificent stage design, strong musical structure, impressive choir scenes and large soloist cast, will meet the audience as one of the most comprehensive productions staged by Antalya DOB this season.
In the production, the director of the work is Yiğit Günsoy, the orchestra conductor is Lorenzo Castriota, and the choir conductor is Mahir Seyrek. The decor and costumes are by Gülden Sayıl, the choreography is by Bader Çakan, and the lighting design is by İnan Erbil Sefer. While the principal violinist of the work will be Fahrettin Arda, Attilay will be played by Şafak Güç and Engin Suna, Odabellayı by Sema Çavuşoğlu and Bilge Yılmaz, Foresto by Erdi Can Aybaş, Burak Pektaş and Göksay Yaran, and the role of Ezio by Serhat Konukman and M.
Yusuf Yıldız. Enis Cihat Kızılgül will play the character of Papa Leone, and Osman Serkan Bodur will play Uldino. – Subject of the work: Attila, composed by Giuseppe Verdi in 1846, stands out as a powerful human drama that focuses on the concepts of power, revenge, loyalty, betrayal and belonging, beyond being just a historical opera. The work, which is among the composer’s early works, is considered one of the important precursors of the dramatic narrative approach that Verdi would mature in the following years.
The work, about the Italian campaign of the Hun Emperor Attila, reinterprets historical events from a dramatic perspective. The last premiere of the season, the three-act opera Attila, will meet the audience on June 6, and the second performance will meet the audience at Haşim İşcan Cultural Center Opera Stage on June 9 at 20.00.
