Established with 100 percent domestic and national capital, Archon Defense continues to develop solutions to increase the mobility of military personnel as a company that aims to become a strong brand in the international market with the innovative systems it has developed in the light weapons category. These solutions include the Archon Type-L Light Machine Gun, which was developed in line with the experiences gained in the field.
The company, which exhibited this rifle for the first time at SAHA EXPO, continues its R&D studies in order to make its products competitive in the global market. Speaking to Defensehere microphones at SAHA 2026, Archon Defense Business Development Officer Eren Ağır explained both these products and their activities. Ağır stated that they had previously participated in Enforce Tac organizations in Riyadh, Germany and DSA organizations in Malaysia, and that they exhibited their main product, the Type-L ultra-light machine gun, at SAHA EXPO.
Ağır stated that Type-L has reached mass production capacity and that R&D activities continue to develop new products in different calibers. Stating that there are new projects planned to be shared with the public in the near future, Ağır said that the Type-L platform has gone through testing processes in various countries and that there are large-scale sales expectations. Indicating that the company’s product range includes the Type-L gun, Ağır said that the gun in question was developed especially for tactical shooting and military and police use, and that its civilian sales are also continuing.
Providing information about Archon Defense’s special type ammunition development efforts, Ağır stated that the company’s vision is “to increase the impact on the target while increasing mobility.” Indicating that the developed ammunition was designed in line with this goal, Ağır stated that the technical specifications have not yet been shared with the public, but various negotiations are ongoing and system development studies are continuing.
Emphasizing that they were satisfied with the contacts at SAHA 2026, Ağır said that both professional meetings and visitor interest were above expectations.
