Ferrari introduced its new “one-of-a-kind” model designed for one of its leading collectors.
Ferrari introduced the SP51, the latest member of its “one of a kind” series. SP51, which takes its place among the distinguished models signed by the Prancing Horse, is prepared on special order according to the needs of its customers, just like other special series versions, and is positioned at the top of Ferrari’s personalization program.
Designed at the Ferrari Design Center and taking its technical architecture, including chassis and engine, from the 812 GTS, the SP51 is a front-engine V12 spider. In terms of aerodynamics, the SP51 not only offers the highest level of comfort in the cabin, but also provides acoustic comfort and wind sensation to the same standard as the car that inspired it. SP51 reflects a strong but harmonious design approach thanks to its muscular appearance and wavy surfaces. SP51 reflects a modern, curvy and attractive appearance with all-carbon elements used extensively both in the cabin and in the exterior design. The coating on the engine hood, which dynamically surrounds the two ventilation grilles in the car, reinforces the striking appearance. SP51, which attracts attention with its new three-layer body color, gains an elegant yet strong character with this color developed specifically for it. The visual appeal of the car is supported by blue and white colors inspired by the legendary 1955 Ferrari 410 S, applied not only on the body but also in the interior.
When looking at the SP51 from the front, the specially designed headlights attract attention. These headlights give the car a strong identity that is distinctive and instantly recognisable. Standing out as another striking design element, the rims designed specifically for the SP51 have carbon fiber wing profiles on one arm and are distinguished by their diamond-cut coatings in sophisticated tones on the forward-facing parts.
When looking at the SP51 from the rear, the taillights with the stripe theme under the spoiler attract attention. Directly behind the cabin are two strong safety cages that appear to float in the air, softened by two deep carbon fiber recesses. There is a carbon fiber wing that overlaps these two elements.
With all these design components, the targa design emerges, which is a reference to the solution adopted in Ferrari’s sports prototypes of the early 1960s. In this formation, the arch of the dome is vaguely hidden.
The most crucial point of the design process, in which the customer is actively involved in every step, is the interior design. The personalization approach in the interior, where craftsmanship and creativity gain a completely new dimension, is shaped around two basic ideas. The color of the Alcantara® upholstery is in harmony with the body color and draws attention with its red color. The white and blue stripe in the design is used on the center console, the tunnel between the two seats, and also on the stitching on the steering wheel. With this application, the roadster design of the car is strengthened and integrity is created between the interior and exterior design. It continues the personalization experience in the cabin with blue Kvadrat® additive trim with white embroidery on the door panels, the lower part of the dashboard and the sides of the seats. The stylish and elegant appearance of the car is supported by the “prancing horse” logo located on the lower edge of the steering wheel with a series of white embroidered details.
