Transfer of E-TENSE technology in Formula E to the roads
With two double championships in Formula E, DS Automobiles continues to transfer E-TENSE technology to production cars. The new DS 7 OPÉRA E-TENSE 225, offered for sale in our country, offers 225 horsepower system power with a 180 horsepower turbocharged, high-pressure direct injection gasoline engine and a 110 horsepower electric motor on the front axle, and can offer a range of 80 km (WLTP EAER urban) and 65 km (WLTP AER mixed conditions) in fully electric driving mode. In hybrid use, the fuel consumption value of 1.2 lt/100 km stands out. While the charging time of the hybrid system on a 7.4 kW charger is approximately 2 hours, the system in question operates on a new 14.2 kWh battery.

A first in the world: DS LIGHT VEIL
It is noteworthy that the daytime running lights of the new DS 7 are inspired by the work done on DS X E-TENSE and DS AERO SPORT LOUNGE. In this technology, the light literally shines in the body color. DS LIGHT VEIL consists of a daytime running light and four vertical lighting units consisting of 33 LED lights. By painting only the inner side of the laser-treated polycarbonate surface, an appearance that changes between light and body color parts is achieved. Thus, the effect of depth and shine is created like a veil. DS LIGHT VEIL welcomes its driver with an animation during locking and unlocking.
Illumination up to 380 meters: DS PIXEL LED VISION 3.0
DS PIXEL LED VISION 3.0 replaces the DS ACTIVE LED VISION Adaptive LED headlights, offering a new technology that adds an extra dimension to the model. The PIXEL modules of the new DS 7 stand out by optimizing the management of lighting power and retain the triple module approach found in every model as a design component of the DS Automobiles light signature. The PIXEL function, with its partial high beam function, offers the opportunity to drive with permanent high beams at night without disturbing other drivers in traffic. The luminous flux is stronger and more regular with the high beam range increased to 380 meters. At speeds less than 50 km/h, the beam width is now set to 65 meters. Two dipped beam modules on the inner edge illuminate the road together. On the outer edge, the PIXEL high beam module consists of 84 LED lights in three rows. Illumination in bends is controlled by the intensity of the PIXEL module’s external LED lights, depending on the angle of the steering wheel. This function, which previously required mechanical movement of the headlight module, is now managed digitally.
