Kia plans to increase its global electric vehicle sales rate to 55 percent of total sales with 2.38 million units by 2030 and become a leading electric vehicle brand. In line with this plan, Kia will invest 22 billion euros in the next five years, 45 percent of which will be in future business areas such as robotics, electric transition and autonomous driving.

Kia reinforces its success with EV9

Following the EV6, which won the Car of the Year award, Kia reinforces its commitment to the transition to electric in Europe with the EV9. The brand, which will further expand its electric vehicle product range by introducing new models to the market by 2027, aims to become the number one electric vehicle manufacturer in the European market. Kia, which broke a sales record in Europe in the first quarter of the year, 34.9 percent of which were electric and electric-assisted vehicles, is now consolidating its success with the EV9.

Built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform, the Kia EV9 features unique technology, design and features for an electric SUV of this size and stature. Kia EV9 will have Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities with “AutoMode” and the “hands-free” Highway Driving Pilot feature, which will be available first in Germany and shed light on the future of Europe. By 2026, Kia also plans to introduce Highway Driving Pilot 2, which will support “eyes-free” driving under certain conditions, with the aim of making fully autonomous driving possible in the future.

Designed by Berk Erner, senior Turkish designer at Kia, Kia EV9 attracts attention with its impressive design. EV9 stands out among electric SUVs not only with its technological features, but also with its interior furnishings made of sustainable and recyclable materials that do not contain leather and instant updates offered via Kia Connect. EV9, Kia’s newest electric model, is expected to be available for sale in Turkey in the first half of 2024.

Kia’s electric vehicle sales are increasing in Europe

Kia, which provided almost 35 percent of its sales in Europe in 2022 from electric and electric-assisted vehicles, increased its sales of electric and electric-assisted vehicles in the same region by approximately 8 percent compared to the previous year.

Continuing to work for an electric future within the scope of its Plan S strategy, Kia aims to lead the transformation in transportation by reaching annual sales of 1.6 million batteries on a global scale by 2030, with a target of 28.5 percent growth in electric vehicle sales in Europe within seven years.

Kia EV9 GT will also be produced

Kia plans to focus its product competition on driving experience and differentiated design. The high-performance GT trim for the EV9 will continue to maintain the brand’s sporty image after the EV6 GT. In terms of design, Kia will continue its user-friendly design based on the “Union of Opposites” philosophy.
