L3Harris Technologies announced it has been awarded a contract worth over $65 million to produce solid-fuel rocket engines for the long-range tactical ballistic missile system ATACMS. Within the scope of the agreement, the company will produce, test and deliver M124 rocket engines. Igniters, exit cones and other related components will also be produced within the framework of the program. Deliveries are planned to be made between 2027–2028.

Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) is a long-range guided missile system launched via the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) and is used by the US Army. Company officials stated that the contract in question shows that L3Harris continues to support the ATACMS program, which has been going on for more than 30 years. Manufacturing operations will be concentrated at the company’s facility in Camden, Arkansas, where solid-fuel rocket engines are manufactured and tested.
