Indra Group USA announced that it opened a new production center in Kansas with an investment of 50 million dollars in order to expand the production of air traffic systems. It was stated that the approximately 11 thousand square meters (118,000 square feet) facility located in the Great Plains Commerce Center will serve as a center of excellence for advanced manufacturing and electronic testing. Officials stated that the facility is expected to create more than 200 jobs in the next three years.
The facility will produce communications, navigation and surveillance systems, including next-generation radar equipment, for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as part of the modernization program of the national airspace system. US Senator Jerry Moran and Indra CEO José Vicente de los Mozos attended the opening ceremony. The new facility will complement Indra’s existing operations in Overland Park and support the production of additional systems, including radios and tactical air navigation equipment for the U.S.
Air Force, company officials said. Indra stated that the investment is part of its strategy to expand its presence in the United States and support both civilian and military air traffic management programs.
