The carbon-free racing vehicle Nissan Z Racing Concept, one of Nissan’s potential development projects in motor sports, will participate in the NAPAC Fuji SUPER TEC 24-hour race.
Nissan announced that the carbon-neutral Nissan Z Racing Concept will participate in the NAPAC Fuji SUPER TEC 24-h race. The 24-hour race at NAPAC Fuji SUPER TEC, the second leg of the ENEOS Super Taikyu Series 2023, will be held at Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka Prefecture between May 26-28. Nissan, which reached the checkered flag after the 24-hour endurance race developed for the first time last year, will continue to show its claim in motor sports with Nissan Z.
Nissan Z Racing Concept, which is based on the Nissan Z GT4 and is a version with improvements made primarily on aerodynamics and cooling system parts, will enter the ST-Q class this year. Participation in the race will allow Nissan to collect the necessary data for race vehicle and spare parts development and expand their experience with carbon neutrality.
Targeting carbon neutrality throughout its product lifecycle by fiscal 2050, Nissan is not only participating in the all-electric ABB FIA Formula E World Championship racing series, but is also focusing on a wider range of carbon-neutral motorsport.
Making a statement on the subject, Nissan’s Motor Sports Business Unit Office and NMC President Takao Katagiri said: “We focus on sustainability while expanding our potential in motor sports. With this challenging 24-hour endurance race, we aim to obtain a lot of data that we can use in future developments. “We are working on improvements to create even more exciting vehicles for our customers around the world,” he said.
