The participant record was broken in the second elimination phase of the TOSFED Searching for its Star project, which was organized for the fifth time this year in cooperation with the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) and FIAT.
A total of 420 applications were made for the second phase of the social responsibility and athlete training project, the first phase of which was held in June, between 15-20 August. This year, the total number of participants reached 700 in the organization whose qualifiers were held at TOSFED Gulf Race Track.
In addition to PETLAS’ tire sponsorship, the project, which is also supported by Apex Racing and Red Bull Turkey, aims to attract young people aged 30 and under who have a driver’s license to automobile sports. Following the theoretical training and the eliminations, where all participants compete against time with Fiat Egea racing cars, the 50 most successful participants will be hosted by TOSFED for two-day advanced training and final eliminations. In addition, all expenses of 50 young people who came from the earthquake zone and participated free of charge this year are covered by TOSFED. At the end of the final eliminations, the fastest 10 male and 4 female drivers will have the opportunity to compete in the 3-race 2023 TOSFED Searching for its Star series with 180 horsepower Egea racing cars prepared by the FIAT Motorsports team, without paying any fee.
