A contract was signed between Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi AŞ (MKE) and the Gendarmerie Public Order Foundation (JAVDES) Group of Companies to integrate the systems to be developed by MKE into the areas where they are needed. “SAHA 2026 International Defense, Aerospace Industry Fair” organized by SAHA Istanbul, Turkey’s and Europe’s largest defense, aviation and space industry cluster, at Istanbul Expo Center continues.
At the fair, where Anadolu Agency (AA) is the global communication partner, a collaboration was made between MKE and JAVDES Group of Companies to integrate similar systems to be developed by MKE, especially the TOLGA close air defense system, into areas needed by the Gendarmerie General Command. At the ceremony held with the participation of Deputy Minister of National Defense and MKE Chairman of the Board of Directors Alpaslan Kavaklıoğlu, the contract was signed by MKE General Manager İlhami Keleş and JAVDES Group of Companies General Manager Ufuk Soyluoğlu.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of National Defense Kavaklıoğlu reminded that MKE is Turkey’s oldest defense industry company and drew attention to the development of the institution in recent years. Referring to the projects that MKE has implemented recently, Kavaklıoğlu said, “MKE has made great strides, especially in the last two years. It has improved itself in terms of both modernization and new investments, as well as technological capacity and talent.
TOLGA is one of the products we developed.” made his assessment. Kavaklıoğlu emphasized that TOLGA is a very functional and effective weapon and said, “There is a great demand for the system. We are now bringing these to our Gendarmerie organization.” he said. MKE General Manager İlhami Keleş stated that TOLGA will meet an important need not only in the air defense of fixed facilities but also in the air defense of military units.
Pointing out that one of the most important threats in recent times is unmanned aerial vehicles and drones, Keleş emphasized that TOLGA offers solutions against these threats with the most comprehensive concept. Keleş stated that the Gendarmerie organization wants to integrate the system in question into its inventory in order to protect its own units and facilities, and said, “JAVDES has also undertaken a duty in this sense.
With these signatures, we will hopefully bring these systems to our Gendarmerie General Command.” he said.
