In his post, Bier said that commenting on X is one of the main elements of the platform, and in some cases, video is the best way to convey thoughts.
Commentary is one of the most important pillars of It is necessary. In the menu that opens, there is the option to react with a video, as well as resharing and quoting options. After selecting this option, the user can start video recording directly. Three different viewing formats are offered during video recording. Users can choose from green screen, split screen or picture-in-picture modes. These modes allow the reacted post to appear in different formats within the video.
The user can thus record his own video reaction by keeping the post on the screen. The new feature does not replace the existing resharing and quoting options. Repost and quote sharing options remain in the same menu. React with Video works as a separate reaction format added alongside these options. The feature is currently open on the iOS side. Therefore, iPhone and iPad users can access the video reaction option through the supported version.
A clear release date for Android and web versions was not shared. X’s video reaction feature was designed as a recording tool that works through posts. Users can respond with videos to posts on agenda, sports, entertainment, technology or different topics they encounter on the platform. A separate usage limit for certain types of content was not announced in the announcement. The new option is among the features that X has recently added to the in-platform video experience.
The company has previously released different updates on the video player, content consumption and content production side. With React with Video, users can share reactions directly from the camera, apart from text-based quote posts.
