ERZURUM (AA) – Handmade products prepared by master instructors and trainees in the historical Double Minaret Madrasa in Erzurum were presented to the public at the "Lifelong Learning Festival".

ERZURUM (AA) – Handmade products prepared by master instructors and trainees in the historical Double Minaret Madrasa in Erzurum were presented to the public at the “Lifelong Learning Festival”. The program, organized by the Provincial Directorate of National Education in the historical Çifte Minareli Madrasa, started with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem. Deputy Governor Mehmet Faruk Kazdal, in his speech here, said that in this age, information is changing rapidly and technology is advancing non-stop.

Stating that the needs of societies are constantly transforming, Kazdal said: “In such an age, it is no longer possible to limit learning only to school years. Learning means renewing oneself, increasing productivity and holding on to life stronger. In this respect, lifelong learning has become not only an individual choice but a mandatory necessity of our age. Educated and productive individuals are the strongest guarantee of development, social solidarity and social peace.

Our Public Education Centers and Maturation Institutes have turned into centers of life by opening their doors to citizens of all ages with this understanding. “Through the courses opened, thousands of our citizens gain new skills, our traditional arts are kept alive, family economies are contributed and participation in social life gets stronger day by day.” Deputy Provincial Director of National Education Orhan Beyazlı stated that with the exhibition opened, they all realized that learning continues in every period of life and the value that labor adds to human life.

Stating that each work exhibited is a reflection of labor, patience and effort mixed with knowledge, Beyazlı explained that tens of thousands of citizens were offered educational opportunities with courses opened throughout the province last year. In the program, which was opened by cutting the ribbon after speeches and folk dances, citizens examined the handmade products prepared by master instructors and trainees, following the protocol.

In addition to the registered oltu stone and ehram, products such as jewelry sets, carpet weaving, decorative handicrafts and philography were exhibited at the exhibition. Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Zafer Aynalı, Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Ahmet Yer, institution representatives and citizens attended the program.
