AMASYA (AA)- 75-year-old Cyprus Veteran Bayram İlhan, who passed away in Amasya's Merzifon district, was sent off on his last journey with a ceremony.

AMASYA (AA)- 75-year-old Cyprus Veteran Bayram İlhan, who passed away in Amasya’s Merzifon district, was sent off on his last journey with a ceremony.

The body of İlhan, who died in the hospital where he was treated in Samsun, wrapped in the Turkish flag, was brought to the historical Kara Mustafa Pasha Mosque on the shoulders of soldiers.

The veteran’s family and relatives accepted their condolences here.

İlhan’s body was buried with military honors in the district cemetery after the afternoon prayer.

In addition to the relatives of the veteran, Merzifon District Governor Ahmet Karaaslan, Garrison Commander Air Pilot Brigadier General Halil Uğur Serin, Deputy Mayor Remzi Hökelek, military personnel, representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations and citizens attended the ceremony.
