MUĞLA (AA) – 250 kilograms of waste were removed from the sea by divers in Bodrum district of Muğla. The fourth stage of the seabed cleaning event, which has been organized by Bodrum Municipality for 12 years, was held in Yahşi District. A volunteer diving team consisting of municipal personnel took part in the event organized by Bodrum Municipality Support Services Directorate and Cleaning Affairs Directorate to draw attention to environmental pollution with the slogan “Blue suits the sea best”.
Divers collected 250 kilograms of waste from the sea in a short time. The extracted waste was exhibited on Yahşi beach to raise awareness and then taken to the 1st Class Waste Bringing Center in Konacık District. It was reported that the seabed cleaning event will continue in Akyarlar District on June 10. – Weed cleaning was also carried out against the risk of fire. On the other hand, it was stated that the Parks and Gardens Directorate teams carried out weed cleaning in a total area of 104 thousand 718 square meters last May in order to reduce the risk of fire and clean the environment, and maintenance, shaping and cleaning work was carried out on 66 thousand 900 meters of roads and pavements.
